Maine Film Festival - July 14th & 21st
The Guide has been named an official selection in the upcoming 16th Maine International Film Festival, July 12-21, in Waterville, Maine! The Boston Globe just proclaimed that "pound for pound, this Waterville-based festival might be the best curated film event in New England." If you take a look at the 2013 festival, we think you'll agree and everyone involved in the film is thrilled to be among the truly outstanding films screening. Even better, the festival has awarded The Guide two superb screening dates and times: Sunday, July 14th at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 21st at 3:30 p.m.
This year MIFF will honor the great actor Keith Carradine as well as Robert Altman -- the legendary filmmaker whose 1971 masterpiece, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, was for (then) thirteen year-old The Guide writer-director John Meyers a seminal movie that he credits for inspiring his life-long passion for film.
Don't delay! Visit the MIFF website or our Facebook to learn more and buy tickets to what will surely be two sold out Maine premiers of The Guide!
"I cannot imagine being more pleased to be able to premier my film with fellow Mainers at such a great festival as MIFF. I believe and hope that the characters and their stories will especially resonate as they are drawn from the people and places I know and am inspired by every day. From the beautiful cityscapes of Rumford, to old-growth stands of snow-covered majestic trees surrounding Rangeley, I know that MIFF audiences will appreciate this movie on a level others cannot."
